Snow Day :) We got over 30 cm of snow in the last 24 hours and the birds are flocking to our bird feeder. We’re going out every hour or so to brush the snow off of the feeder so they can keep eating

I think this is the only picture I like of me. Im not even facing the camera. ANYWAY. I said I’d explain the wolf tattoo. Don’t laugh okay!

I call him Sammy, he lives on my back and he’s my ‘good wolf’

He’s based on a Cherokee Legend called ‘the wolves within’ here it is:

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Sammy reminds me to be a good person.

So it’s been awhile since I’ve written, but life has...

So it’s been awhile since I’ve written, but life has been crazy recently! I was offered, and accepted, a job in White Lake Provincial Park, approximately 15 hours north of here and I was given 10 days notice to pack up my life, quit my job (not that I mind that part) and drive North. I am so excited for this job and right now I just wish I was on the road. I am all packed up and now I just get to wait until Sunday and then I will be on the road.

There are a lot of people I am going to miss here, including Ryan, but that will only be temporary; he is trying to line up a job up north and then he will come join me there. I’m going to miss my family, we really became close this year. In the two years past we had drifted apart, I was always off on adventures and too busy to call or visit them but this year I got to spend some legitimate quality time with them and I can honestly say I’m going to miss them.

I am looking forward to doing some terrific paddling and hiking this summer, I have my kayak packed up and strapped onto the truck. My goal for the summer is not to get seriously injured because I have my RCMP testing in August.

It may be awhile before I post again, Im not sure what the internet situation is going to be like up in White River, but I can guarantee its not going to be very good… So until next time, I wish everyone the best on their adventures!
